EVERY TUESDAY AFTERNOON 5 pm to 6 pm. £3 per session Due to public request we are teaching Yoga to children as there is little or no such provision available locally for this valuable life enhancer and fitness programme. So if you live in either Carmarthenshire or Cardiganshire give us a ring for details

The photo shows some of the younger members of Zita's Yoga class at Malindi Centre who are enthusiastically learning the Yoga postures (asanas) which are excellent for developing and maintaining flexibility and muscle strength, among other things. As you can see, one little lady is thoughtfully relaxing before starting again!

EVERY TUESDAY AFTERNOON 5 pm to 6 pm

Yoga classes are aimed at integrating different levels of “competency”.

Advisable to book……

Or £3 per session or £18 a session

Zita is fully qualified to teach all ages from very young children to the older teenagers (and beyond, of course!) Zita's Yoga or 'Asana' classes are aimed at integrating different levels of 'competency'. She believes in the value of working together and supporting each other as one would in a family situation.
The students concentration is greatly increased by regular and quiet practice thereby helping to make daily life easier at school!

It is a very positive step forward, for all concerned, to allow children to learn Yoga with an experienced and caring teacher such as Zita. Yoga is made fun and by using visualisation is seen to be a pleasant game while carrying out healthful and stimulating exercises. The benefits are numerous and will soon become apparent after they have been learning for only a short while. It is noticed that children love the stretching into the various positions as much as they enjoy the relaxing posture after each sequence. They readily and happily move into' the cat', 'the dog', 'the swan', 'the baby' poses, just to name a few. They are not only taught how to achieve these asanas but it is explained why they are doing them and what they will experience through regular practice. As energy is being expended into something positive and fun is part of the process, there should be some changes in their outlook and usually a positive and caring manner results.

The purpose and philosophy of Yoga is to bring unison between mind, body and spirit, through specific exercises, breathing and meditation.

As Zita is a fully qualified teacher of Yoga and has a Masters degree in Education, she has been keenly interested to take her Quantum Yoga and Human Values programme to schools in South and West Wales and, in this, she has been successful. It is slowly being recognised that Yoga is certainly beneficial for the health and well being of children, in mind, body and spirit. This can only bode well for the fiuture of our planet if we allow our youth to learn the ways and practises of the ancient teachings.Yoga, is after all, thousands of years old and it can, and does, lead to a wonderfully contented and nourishing way of life. Why is it still with us if it does not work?

However, not all areas have yet accepted this 'new way' of thinking and teaching for our children, but here at Malindi Centre we feel that encouragement is needed for children of all ages to have the opportunity to learn and perhaps more importantly, to find out how enjoyable it is. They will come to understand just how the control and concentration of their minds can be used to create a healthy body and spirit. Awareness of their 'Self' will give them strength and confidence which will spill over into their daily lives, they will see that they are not limited in anything they wish to do in life and will take on tasks willingly, creatively and patiently. Isn't this all we would wish for our children, to be happy, healthy and wise!

On a practical note, Zita takes great care to ensure that only the correct asanas are taught to the children as some are not suitable for young and developing bodies.

Zita encourages her students to focus on heart energy, which then acts Click to find out more about Zita Starkieautomatically to open all areas.. This is a fun and healthy activity for you child or children.
